I’m somewhat at a loss for words right now honestly. I mean, it’s Tuesday right; there’s a new very minor patch that’s bringing about some welcome and not-so welcome class changes. Even the file size is very small for a patch, should take you all of 60 seconds to download and update. You can find the post I made yesterday just under this one on my main page for all the listed changes. Other than that there really isn’t much going on in the World of Warcraft let alone the world of Spooner. I’m pat

Important Blue Posts for Jan. 14th By Spooner • January 14, 2009 • No Comments Pet mechanics changes is on the list Yes, I have tried to post several times that the way pets receive buffs from their masters is inconsistent. We need to take a holistic look at stats, especially those like hit, spell pen and haste. It doesn’t make sense, for example, for a pet to receive a percentage [...] Categories: blue posts Tags: classic wow, dps classes, engineering, forum feedback, ghostcrawler

The Daily Spoon: Cabbages and Kings (and dreams of 11pt talents) By Spooner • January 14, 2009 • No Comments I’ve been toying around with my protection build. Honestly I feel like switching back and forth between DPS and tanking only when I run into situations where incompetent DPS happens to roll through my group somehow and we fail the achievement or the boss kill simply because people don’t know 4 years into this game [...] Categories: The Daily Spoon Tags: 11pt protection tal

PVP News for Jan. 14th: Arena Cap & Resilience Discussion By Spooner • January 14, 2009 • No Comments Resilience. I would agree with GC in that the main complaints are coming from folks that are getting destroyed by players using raid gear to burst them down in a few hits. But that in itself is a great strategy considering the environment. Most people aren’t wearing deadly gladiator or even the crafted savage gear. Paladin Tanking: 5 Reasons You Can’t Hold Aggro I was asked by a friend of a friend (it’s complicated) why his paladin is having such a hard time holding aggro. I myself have learned through trial and error because frankly, that’s how I learn best. I’m not much of a problem solver but I pride myself on being pretty much the be all [...] Paladin Tanking: 5 Reasons You Can’t Hold Aggro By Spooner • January 13, 2009 • No Comments I was asked by a friend of a friend (it’s complic

“Video Games made me Kill my Parents” Excuse, Rejected! Saw this article on Techdirt and it just makes me want to /facepalm. Between kids threatening suicide for attention to this dumbass killing his parents and then blaming Halo 3; what is the next generation of gamers coming too? I’m part of the 2nd wave of gamers so to speak. Born and bred during the age [...] “Video Games made me Kill my Parents” Excuse, Rejected! By Spooner • January 13, 2009 • No Comments Saw this articl

Mandatory Class Talents? By Spooner • January 13, 2009 • No Comments “Mandatory” Talents There is nothing wrong with “mandatory” talents per se. Generally the community considers them mandatory because they are very good talents. We don’t want a bunch of trees with a bunch of mediocre talents. We love the depth that comes from players endlessly debating which spec to use or comparing talents to each [...] Categories: Warcraft Classes, blue posts Tags: class talents, cookie cutter,
